What critical and minimum edge distances should I use for adhesive anchors?

*Posted on behalf of a Hilti customer:

PROFIS Anchor and the simplified tables seem to indicate different minimum edge distances than what is provided in CSA. Which values are correct?

Hey Customer,

thank you for reaching out to us. CSA A23.3-14 Annex D.9.4 and D.9.7 provide minimum and critical edge distance requirements for adhesive anchors of 6da and 2hef, respectively. However, these clauses also allow for the manufacturer to perform testing per ACI355.4 to justify a smaller edge and critical distance requirement. Hilti's post-installed adhesive anchors have undergone testing per ACI 355.4 and the values obtained in this testing are what PROFIS Anchor and the simplified tables used. More detailes of these values for a specific adhesive can be found on the ICC-ESR report of this adhesive, available at http://www.hilti.ca. I hope I have answered your question. If there is anything else, please let me know.

Best Regards
Lisa
