What can of anchor system should I use for a floor mounted jib crane with unknown slab thickness?

I have a base mounted pillar jib crane that I need to bolt to an existing commercial building concrete slab. I am attaching the drawing of the crane from Abell-Howe with specs. I dont know the thickness or strength of the slab. My questions are concerning type of fastening system ( HVU?) and fastener depth. The holes in the base plate are 1-1/4 inches in diameter. A recommended 8-1/4 inch embeddment of a 1 inch diameter Hilti Fastener might not be possible in my slab. Do you recommendations?

Jeff,

Since Hilti is not a registered design firm, we would not be able to provide an anchor system design for a project, due to the multiple variables that are involved in designing. What can be provided are resources for the use of our products (ex. Technical Information, ICC-ES ESR, software, etc.) for the engineer of record to reference in their calculations. This may be accomplished with:

  1. Hilti’s PROFIS Anchor software (free to download from https://www.us.hilti.com/profis-anchor)
  2. Hilti’s Simplified Design Tables (located in the technical information)

If you are looking at using an adhesive anchoring system, you could look at the following products which are commonly used:

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
