to use threaded rod as a hanger in support design According to AISI

To whome it may concern
When I want to use threaded rod as a hanger in mechanical supports in LRFD approach according to ASCE7-10, I have a problem and softwere does not know any connection between rod and channel (According to the attached file).
Is there any limitation in Code for using threaded rod as a hanger? Or we have no solution because we have no approval for using MQA or MQZ-L in that support?
What is your suggestion?

Amir,

At this time PROFIS Installation only utilizes the Allowable Stress Design (ASD) methodology for design; however, will have the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) provisions included in a future update. At this time, one method to analyze the project is to evaluate the MQ strut piece itself and the threaded rods and connectors separately. This can be accomplished by utilizing the “Simple Designer” section of the software, assuming two fixed connections where the threaded rods will be, and analyze the performance of the MQ piece. After verification that the MQ piece meets the design check, the next step would be to analyze the allowable loads for the rods and connections outside the software, utilizing the Hilti MI/MQ Technical Guide, to evaluate the system.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Bryan

Thank you for your respone When the Profis installation softwere update will be published? Besides, I wasnt able to find any loading information for MQZ-L as a washer. Could you give me more infomation for this piece? I need to use this piece for connection between threaded rod and MQ-41 channel. Regards
