Temperature values in Profis Rebar

I’m using the Hilti Method in PROFIS Rebar. What’s the difference between the temperature values I can input.

Dear customer,

Thank you for your question. Hi Claire,
when using the Hilti Method, four different temperature parameters can be input via the Base material tab:

- base material temperature – corresponds to the concrete temperature at the time the reinforcing bar is being post-installed.
- adhesive temperature – corresponds to the adhesive temperature at the time the reinforcing bar is being post-installed.
- short term temperature – corresponds to elevated concrete temperatures “that occur over brief intervals, e.g. as a result of diurnal cycling” during the service life of the post-installed bar.
- long term temperature – corresponds to elevated concrete temperatures “that are roughly constant over significant periods of time” during the service life of the post-installed bar.

For more information about the Hilti Method reference the PROFIS Rebar Design Guide. Don't hesitate to contact us if there is anything else we can do for you.

All the best
Randall
