Stand-off anchor bolt analysis

Stand-off anchor bolt analysis

When trying to analyze a stand-off anchor, the Hilti PROFIS program is giving me a warning/message that states "Anchor cannot be used in a construction with stand-off without clamping". Therefore, I was going to try it with clamping....but it's giving me the same warning for each scenario. Can you help me identify why a stand-off anchor cannot be analyzed with the program? Is there a load limit?

Kevin,

In order to use "Stand-off without Clamping" you will be limited to a anchors that are not torque controlled (ex. adhesive anchor with threaded rod or cast in place anchors), in order to allow for the anchor element to have free rotation at the surface of the concrete. On the other hand, "Stand-off with Clamping" will allow for mechanical/adhesive/cast-in-place anchors, as this scenario will provide rotation restraint at the surface of the concrete. For more information on this you can also reference the PROFIS Anchor Design Guide at: https://submittals.us.hilti.com/PROFISAnchorDesignGuide/#197/z

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
