I have an opening on the back side of an electrical panel, where they have wires coming out of, that i need to fireproof. Its located on a dividing wall ( which is 2 hour fire rated wall) of two units. The building inspector requires approved UL listing for all fire protection. I wasn't able to find any information on the Specifiers Guide, Vol 18.
Hi Tenzin. Thank you for utilizing ASK Hilti! After reviewing your picture above, it seems that you have an electrical panel flush mounted in regards to the gypsum wallboard. Utilizing the firestopping method called out in attached tested system WL 8079 would be the best way to achieve F-rated system for this application. However, we will need to create an engineering judgment to callout you electrical panel specifically.
