HILTI KWIK HUS Reusable Concrete Anchor System in Cracked Concrete

Can the HILTI KWIK HUS Reusable concrete anchor system be used to anchor into cracked concrete? If so, is it appropriate to reduce the listed uncracked concrete design strength values by a factor of 1.4 per ACI to obtain cracked concrete design strength?

Mickey,

The KWIK HUS Screw Anchor, which is removable and reusable, only has test data into uncracked concrete (https://www.hilti.com/medias/sys_master/documents/h94/h34/9254303367198/Technical-information-ASSET-DOC-LOC-5202174.pdf), and if the anchor was to be used in cracked concrete it would be an engineering judgement to evaluate and approve the anchor design. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Bryan
