Galvanization of Hilti Anchors

Hilti Anchors are available either in stainless steel or carbon steel. I'm wondering if galvanized option of carbon steel is available or it should be galvanized by ourselves?

Hashem,

Hilti offers threaded anchor rods that are either zinc-coated, hot-dip galvanized, or stainless steel, as shown in Section 3.2.8 of the 2017 Anchor Fastening Technical Guide (https://submittals.us.hilti.com/PTGVol2/#246). The availability of galvanized or similar coatings on mechanical anchors is limited to the Kwik Bolt 3 (https://submittals.us.hilti.com/PTGVol2/#340, see hot-dipped galvanized) and HDA Undercut (https://submittals.us.hilti.com/PTGVol2/#250, see sherardized coating). Mechanical anchors should not be hot-dipped galvanized or treated with other coatings after purchase and prior to installation since anchor performance could be negatively affected.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Regards,

Bryan
