Common applications for anchor channels

*Posted on behalf of a Hilti customer:

Where are these types of anchor channels most commonly used? Are there issues with moisture collection in the channels and freeze-thaw?

Dear Customer,

thank you for reaching out to us. Anchor channels are commonly used for façade attachments and elevator applications which are located behind the dry line (Interior of the building) since this is a climate controlled environment no moisture issues are expected. There are some façade attachments (parking garages) and other applications such as handrail connections where the anchor channel is exposed to the environment. The anchor channels are hot dip galvanized and depending on condition basis, additional considerations may have to be taken. Typically the moisture collection is not an issue. However, if the channel will be used near a corrosive environment, then the use of a stainless steel channel is recommended. Please feel free to reach out any time, if you need additional information.

Best Regards
Aidan
