Which anchors and fasteners may be used for seismic applications?
Hi Customer,
thank you for reaching out to us. (a) Concrete Mechanical and adhesive anchors which have been tested in accordance with ICC Acceptance Criteria AC 193 and AC 308 respectively, including the cracked concrete and seismic tests, may be suitable. For additional information reference the ICC Evaluation Service Report for each product.
(b) Power-actuated fasteners installed into steel may be suitable for seismic applications. For additional information reference the ICC Evaluation Service Report for each product.
(c) In general, power-actuated fasteners installed into concrete are not suitable for seismic applications. Additional information for specific applications may be found in the applicable building codes and reference standards such as ASCE/SEI 7 - Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. I hope I have answered your question. If there is anything else, please let me know.
Best Regards
