Anchoring in Granite

I was trying to find the correct product to anchor some railing posts in 6" solid granite. I couldn't find any information on the actual data for any of the anchoring epoxys.

If you have any information on edge distance as well I would appreciate it.

Ethan,

As you have mentioned, Hilti does not have any test information for anchoring applications in stone base materials. This is due to the fact that there is no acceptance criteria for anchoring into natural stone elements, as the composition of the stone can vary from sample-to-sample. Based on previous experiences, customers have used a true epoxy anchor (ex. HIT-RE 500 V3) as a possible solution, with the data that is available for anchoring into concrete being used as a reference for the design of the anchor system. Ultimately it will be up to an engineering judgement to evaluate the design into natural stone, and onsite evaluation would also typically be prescribed.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Bryan
