After fire intumescent coating process
Since the fire proof coating will expand after the fire (loosing the aesthetic advantage), does the coating require replacing after fire?

Hello Khaled and thank you for utilizing ASK Hilti! Once the intumescent is exposed to fire and allowed to expand (char) to provide the chemical heat sink, the intumescent will have to be completely removed along with the primer. This can be achieved through mechanical means. Once this done, the application of a newly approved primer along the intumescent will be necessary to achieve the fire rating.
