Stair stringer interrupted 1 hour exterior wall membrane

We have a project where the contractor did not run the 5/8" type X continuously on the inside of a required 1 hour 2x6 wood framed exterior wall (needs to be rated from both sides) and installed the stringer directly to the studs, then butt the Type X to the stringer. Is there a solution to retro-actively fire-rate this membrane penetration? There is 2x6 horizontal blocking at the top of the stair stinger the full length. The wall is also insulated.
