Anchor Spacing between adjacent anchor groups?

for narrow members with smaller cross section (such that a column) and where an anchor group in shear have large end distance, the code puts limit of the end distance Ca1 to be used in the calulations of the anchors' concrete breakout strength. any suggestions to spacing between adjacent anchor groups in the direction of the loading in case two attachments are used instead of one as a workaround? eg 3xCa1 clear spacing?

Samy,

The amount of space to leave between anchor groups to determine they are independent of each other will vary and ultimately be an engineering judgment. Since the concrete breakout cone extends 1.5* hef, a minimum of 3*hef would ensure that adjacent anchors are not overlapping.
