HILTI ANCHOR CHANNEL SYSTEMS

HAC EDGE

The use of HAC EDGE is ideal for applications with high shear loads (top of slab applications, typically), thin slabs, small edge distances, lightweight concrete, low concrete compressive strength, and corners. It outperforms the concrete edge breakout strength of traditional anchor channels by up to a factor of 5. HAC EDGE is a new anchoring system. This system consists of a standard anchor channel and the new rebar edge confinement plate (EDGE plate). The EDGE plate is not structurally attached to the anchor channel. It is mechanically connected with a fixture and self-drilling screws.

Product Features and Benefits

HAC S EDGE

In addition to the benefits that HAC EDGE offers, HAC S EDGE provides superior steel performance in perpendicular shear. This is ideal for applications with high shear forces and/or applications with high torsional moments such as corners. Applications with high torsional moments typically require additional t-bolts and the use of wider brackets. Depending on the magnitude of the loads, HAC S EDGE may allow the use of the typical curtain wall bracket configurations at the hot spots of the building.

The “S bracket” increases the channel lip and connection strength in perpendicular shear. Therefore, the channel lip strength and anchor-channel connection in perpendicular shear are based on in-house testing and were established following AC232 testing protocols

Top of Slab Corners:

The Hilti Anchor Channel model for top of slab corners is based on applicable provisions of ESR-3520 and principles of AC232. The model considers the influence of the adjacent corner channel to the concrete failure modes. Due to the aerodynamic nature of wind, both corner sides are expected to experience simultaneous wind loads. Concrete strengths shall be adjusted accordingly as the corner concrete is utilized by both anchor channels at the corner. HAC EDGE C & HAC S EDGE C come with an offset rebar to avoid clashing of the rebars with the adjacent channel. The new model allows the channels to be positioned next to each other.

Hilti Serrated Anchor Channel: HAC-T

Hilti Serrated Anchor Channel Systems (HAC-T) are fully covered by ICC ESR-3520. The product is offered in channel profiles HAC-T50 and HAC-T70. The manufacturing process allows the serrated channels to have a price point similar to their equivalent anchor channel size with smooth channel lips. For instance, HAC-T50 106/300 F has a similar price to HAC-50 106/300 F.

Features and Benefits

HAC-T is suitable for applications that require repositioning of the T-bolts and transferring of longitudinal forces.
