Beyond Bond Strength: The Effect of Moisture - series

Water can’t be controlled on the jobsite, but you don’t have to lose control in design

The moisture condition of concrete has been defined by ACI 318-19 Chapter 26 as a key parameter that needs to be considered during the design and specification of adhesive anchors. Dry concrete, water-saturated concrete, and water-filled holes may have different strength reduction factors which can impact the bond strength of the adhesive and may cause jobsite issues if not accounted for in the design process. - series
